MBSA 2.1 mit WSUS
MBSA 2.1 versucht Internetverbindung zu MS, obwohl Abfrage gegen lokalen WSUS im Unternehmensnetzwerk explizit eingestellt ist.
Hallo zusammen,
ich möchte gerade einen unserer Windows 2003 Server mit dem MBSA 2.1 überprüfen. Klappt auch alles ganz gut, solange ich nicht die Option "Check for security updates" setze. Darunter kann ich ja auswählen "Advanced Update Services Option: Scan using assigned WSUS only". Über die Gruppenrichtlinien ist unser lokaler WSUS-Server als Updateserver eingerichtet. Klicke ich auf "Start Scan" steht dort dann "Downloading Security Update Information from Microsoft", was natürlich fehlschlägt, weil der Server (mit gutem Recht) keine Internetverbindung hat. Irgendwann bricht der Versuch mit der Meldung ab: "The catalog file is damaged or invalid catalog."
Weiß jemand, wie ich den MBSA 2.1 Offlinescan richtig verwende?

Leider hat das jedoch nicht funktioniert. Die wuredist.cab habe ich nun ebenfalls heruntergeladen und in den Cache-Ordner gelegt. Der MBSA versucht immer noch, sich mit dem Internet zu verbinden und schlägt dann mit der gleichen Fehlermeldung fehl: "The catalog file is damaged or invalid catalog."
Hat noch jemand eine Idee!
Und die anderen Schritte aus der genannten FAQ hast Du auch durchgeführt?

To check the version of the offline catalog, follow these procedures:
Step 1: If you do not have the file, download it from http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?LinkId=76054 and save it to C:\Documents and Settings\<username>\Local Settings\Application Data\Microsoft\MBSA\2.0\Cache\wsusscn2.cab. You may use any folder, but this is where MBSA will store the file after MBSA has downloaded it.
Step 2: Open C:\Documents and Settings\<username>\Local Settings\Application Data\Microsoft\MBSA\2.0\Cache\wsusscn2.cab using any program able to view an archive file type of *.cab.
Step 3: Open package.cab from the wsusscn2.cab file, and then the package.xml file inside it.
Step 4: View the OfflineSyncPackage header element for the CreationDate. It should be set to a value such as "2005-06-01T18:42:49Z" (for example). Use the value you find to determine when the file was generated by Microsoft.

Ok, es hat jetzt geklappt, als ich den Windows Update Agent erneut installiert hatte. Er war zwar schon in der aktuellen Version installiert, aber irgendwie scheint das der MBSA nicht mitbekommen zu haben. Also einfach drüberinstalliert und schon ging's! Danke für die Hilfe!
