In einer vSphere Umgebung (gabs auch schon bei VI 3, 2) können für das vCenter, ESX Host, Cluster, Datastore, etc... Alarme definiert werden.
Ein solch definierter Alarm ist zB "Virtual machine usage cpu", License error", "Host memory usage", Cluster high availability error", Network connectivity lost", um nur ein paar Beispiele zu nennen. Einer solchen Alarmdefinition kann die Action "send a notification email" zugewiesen werden. Als Wert wird dann ein e-Mail Empfänger eingetragen.
