Ubuntu 14.10 veröffentlicht
Heute hat Canonical zum zehnjährigen Jubiläum (das schon vor ein paar Tagen war) das neue Ubuntu 14.10 (UtopicUnicorn) veröffentlicht. Bis auf Updates der Softwarepakete und einen neuen Linux-Kernel gibt es kaum Neuerungen. Standardmäßig wird weiterhin Canonicals eigenes Upstart verwendet, wer will kann aber bereits auf Systemd umstellen. Leider sind viele Anwendungen noch nicht für Systemd angepasst, so das man einige Daemons mit Upstart und einige mit Systemd verwalten muss (service vs systemctl).
