Cisco NM-AIR-WLC6 Software-Problem

Habe einen Cisco NM-AIR-WLC6 mit original Cisco CF-Karte als Modul in einem Cisco Router 2821. Nun habe ich ein Software-Problem.
Leider ist die Software (Kernel und Bootloader) defekt.
Wer kann mir helfen?

Sowas wie einen Kernel gibt es nichtvbei Cisco. Wenn dann die IOS Firmware. Der Bootloader kann auch niemals defekt sein, denn der ist fest ins Prom gegossen.
Vermutlich hast du also die Firmware aus dem Flash gelöscht...ist aber ob deiner sehr oberflächlichen Beschreibung jetzt mal im freien Fall geraten.
Warst du denn mal so intelligent und hast ein Terminal (putty oder TeraTerm) an den Konsolanschluss angeschlossen und mal die Bootmeldungen angesehen ? Das ist immer das allererste was der Cisco Netzwerker macht wie jeder weiss...
Wenn ja, wie sehen die aus und mit welchem Prompt meldet sich der Router ?
Das wäre eine sinnvolle Hilfe hier um dir zielgerichtet zu helfen !

Beim Starten geht das WCL-Modul automatisch in den integrated BIOS-Debugger Mode, auf dem Flash ist folgende Datei: AIR-WLCM-K9-4-2-209-0.aes.
Die Fehlermeldung lautet:

Hoffentlich verbirgt sich kein "Sandro" dahinter....aber egal

Deshalb nochmal die entscheidenden Fragen:

WO bekommst du diese Fehlermeldung ??
Deshalb nochmal die entscheidenden Fragen:
- Hast du ein 9600 Baud Terminal am seriellen Konsolport des Routers angeschlossen ?
- WIE meldet sich der Router ? Bootet der das auf dem Flash befindliche IOS ? oder landet der im Bootloader (rommon Prompt)
- Was ergibt ein show Flash ?
- Wie ist dein config Register gesetzt ?
Erst wenn er sein IOS bootet, dann musst du auf den Consol Prompt des Controllers kommen. Entweder intern oder über das FastEth Interface am Controller selber !

Wow, da haben wir ja gleichzeitig geschrieben....Da konnte ich noch nicht antworten, aber die Anworten geb ich jetzt!
1. Kein Sandro, eine Sandra...
2. Ja, der Router läuft. Habe mich mit einem Laptop per HyperTerminal verbunden.
3. Was ist ein Config register (ups, hab schon wieder keine Ahnung...)
4. Den show Flash kann ich posten, aber das ist ja der, von dem Router. Der Router läuft. Den show Flash von dem WLan Modul kann ich ja solange nicht machen, wie das Wlan Modul nicht hoch ist....
Daher hab ich die WLCM FlashKarte in den Router gesteckt, den ShowFlash habe ich darunter nochmal reinkopiert.
5. Ganz unten uner dem WLCM Flash habe ich den Boot des Rooters kopiert
Toll, freu mich total wegen Deiner Hilfe

Du hast nur wie fast alle oberflächlich arbeitenden Netzwerk Admins dich nicht vorher umfassend informiert was den Einsatz des Moduls in der 2821er Plattform und die dafür erforderlichen minimalen IOS Requirements anbetrifft.
Dort steht in den Release Notes doch ganz groß und dick:

Wow... Super, Danke für die Info, das hatte ich noch nicht gesehen. Hört sich das nach einer Lösung an?? Nun, da werde ich mich gleich daransetzen, ein IOS-Update zu machen. Wenn ich es geschafft habe, poste ich das Ergebnis....

Äääähhh, meinst du das IOS Update ?? Das ist kinderleicht und in 2 Minuten erledigt, von "komplex" kann da keine Rede sein..

Wow, das war was! Und vorweg: es hat nicht geholfen. Aber der Reihe nach.
Haben einen TFTP Server aufgesetzt, Firewall ist auch eingerichtet.
Dann habe ich mich durch die IOS Varianten durchgelesen, die c2800nm-adventerprisek9-mz.151-3.T.bin schien mir die richtige. Und siehe da, die IOS auf dem Router läuft auch.
Wie ich das hätte in 2 Minuten schaffen sollen... dazu fehlt mir wohl noch einiges. Immerhin, hättest Du mir nicht die Versionslehre kurz aufgeschrieben... das hab ich dann alles nochmal bei Cisco nachgelesen, ja, da hast Du mir sehr geholfen.
Nun ist wieder alles das gleiche. Der WLCM ist nicht anzusteuern, der läuft immer noch nicht. Irgendwie mache ich an dem Gerät rum, mein Kopf raucht und es bringt mich langsam echt zur Verzweiflung. Was mach ich den jetzt wieder falsch...
Unten sind alle Fehlermeldungen, die Du vorher haben wolltest. Hoffe, daß sind auch alle richtigen. Das show sysinfo konnte ich leider nicht machen, da ich gar nicht auf den Promt vom WLCM komme. Deshalb habe ich noch die Fehlermeldung der Konsole beim Zugriff auf das WLCM angehängt.

Mmmhhhh...was war denn daran so kompliziert. Wenn du ins Flash gesehen hättest dann siehst du dort doch die c2800nm-adventerprisek9-mz.124-6.T2.b als Image.
Wie der IOS Name schon sagt ist das das "Advanced Enterprise Services" Image. Da hättest du nicht groß lesen müssen sondern einfach nur das nehmen was auch drauf war...ganz einfach !
Warum man wenn man einen TFTP Server wie Pumpkin oder TFTP-32 startet eine Firewall einrichtet weisst vermutlich auch nur du, denn in der Regel ist das kontraproduktiv wenn die Firewall TFTP blockt..aber egal es hat ja geklappt wie man sieht ....
Warum du nun wieder eine alte Version mit der 15.1.3T eingesetzt hast weisst vermutlich nur du. Das ist ein ED (Early Deployment) Release und eher nicht für stabilen Dauerbetrieb gemacht. Aktuell ist die 15.1.4M (c2800nm-adventerprisek9-mz.151-4.M4.bin) als MD was etwas sinnvoller wäre aber nundenn...
Übrigens: Das alte Image kannst du mit del flash:c2800nm-adventerprisek9-mz.124-6.T2.b löschen wenn du es nicht mehr benötigst um wieder Platz im Flash zu schaffen.
Vermutlich ist zusätzlich dein Image des Wireless LAN Controllers wohl irgendwie im Flash kaputt.
Besser also du machst da nochmal ein Update.
Da sich das WLAN Controller Modul meldet und so aussieht als ob es "lebt" solltest du also zu allererst mal versuchen auf das Modul zu kommen.
Log dich also entweder über die Router Konsole auf dem Modul direkt ein oder über den Port am Modul selber.
Das Modul meldet sich ja mit 192.168.67.115 und ist über den Port TCP 2066 ansprechbar.
Also hier einmal einloggen und dann ein show sysinfo eingeben und das Image des Controllers auch updaten.
Also, logg dich also erstmal auf dem Controller Modul ein wie oben im PDF oder Video beschrieben und mach dann ein Update auf das aktuelle Controller Image:

Wichtig ist hier das du den Controller Modul Prompt bekommst wie im Upgrade Führer beschrieben um hier mal etwas Debugging zu machen.

So, das war wieder viel... jedenfalls für mich! Also:
Der Login klappt nicht über den Consolenport am WLCM.
Da steht übrigens fastEthernet dran und "not supported", aber ich habs mit Consolenkabel und Ethernet versucht. Einmal erhalte ich die Meldung "no route to host" und einmal erhalte ich "host is down".
Intern, über den Consolenport des Routers kann ich mich am Router einloggen. Beim authentifizieren am Modul passiert nun gar nichts mehr, ich komme nicht mal mehr ins Bios, da sehe ich nur einen blinkenden Balken.
Deshalb habe ich ein show Flash des Routers beigelegt und außerdem den Boot-Vorgang des Routers angehängt. Natürlich auch wieder den Inhalt der Flashkarte des Moduls.

Mmmhhh..oben schreibst du du hast keinerlei Kontakt auf dem Modulprompt kannst aber von da das Modul Flash auslesen... da fragt man sich wie das denn geht ??
Nundenn...de facto fehlt eine Datei auf dem CF Modul. Wenn das FAT lesbar ist kannst du es ggf. in einen CF Leser stecken und neu betanken oder wenn du es über die Konsole mit "copy tftp flash..." machen kannst umso besser...
Du benötigst einmal die Boot Software 7.0 für Router:
AIR-WLCM-K9-7-0-235-0-ER.aes
Und die Controller Software mit dem (fast) gleichen Namen !

Achtung: Die dürfen NICHT zugleich eingespielt werden ! Erst die Bootsoftware ER.aes, dann den Router bzw. Modul rebooten und dann die eigentliche Controller Software !

Einen "Linux" Kernel gibt es vom Software Portal der Cisco Webseite nicht zum Download.
Der Bootloader und die WLCM Software (~40 MB) sind die einzigen Dateien zum Download dort.
Vermutlich ist also dieser ominöse Kernel in der WLCM SW enthalten und entpackt sich beim Installieren wie es auch fr diverse Switch Imgaes blich ist.
Es ist ja auch mglich das dein Imgae File corrupted ist, deshalb solltest du den besser auch nochmal neu aufspielen...

Toll, das hat erst mal einen Schritt weiter gebracht. So, ganz klasse.
Ich komme wieder in das Bios des WLC6, Du hattest recht, die ER hat nicht gegeht! Dann aber geht's nicht weiter.

Da ist dann wirklich vermutlich das Modul defekt und das solltest du dann RMAen.
Als letzten Versuch kannst du noch den von dir geposteten Link mit dem externen Beschreiben des CF Flashes versuchen.

Es hat geklappt.
Also: Lösung war es, eine 512MB Flashkarte einzusetzen, dann das Image einer lauffähigen Version einzuspielen. Anschließend konnte ich zugreifen und das WLCM resetten.
Vielen Dank für die Hilfe, ohne aqui wäre ich nie so weit gekommen.
