Cisco Systems Aironet AP1142 (AIR-AP1142N-E-K9) WLAN-N-Access-Point
HI ich bin Student und habe den oben genannten AP erworben. Dieser ist schon/ war schon mal konfiguriert. Ich habe mich über das Consolen Kabel angedockt und Telnet Client unter Win7 nachinstalliert, Verbindung über serial/USB Adapter.
So und jetzt bin ich im Telnet und wie gehts dann weiter? Kann ich auch überhaupt mal testen ob die Verbindung steht. Ich hab mir das Tool ipsu von cisco runtergeladen aber das tool sagt er findet die ip nicht....
Bitte um Hilfe damit ich vorran komme.

Console und Telnet sind verschiedene Dinger.
An der Console benötigt man keine IP. Das ist das serielle Kabel (oder USB) mit dem RJ45 auf der Cisco-Seite.
Telnet wird über das Ethernetkabel genutzt.
Jeder CISCO hat auch eine Prozedur um auf Factory default gesetzt werden zu können. Das sind die Passwörter und die Konfigurationen, die dann weggehen.
An der Console siehst du bei der Einstellung mit 9k6 8N1 den Bootvorgang.

Hi ich danke euch recht herzlich für eure Hilfe! Ich hab ihn über die Anleitung geresetet über den "Mode" Button. Ich hab mir auch noch das Programm Putty runtergeladen und mit dem konnte ich über den USB/serial adapter drauf zu greifen.

Yepp, sieht gut aus !! Funktioniert das Teil !
Erstmal machst du den "nackig" also löschst die bestehende Konfig vom Vorbesitzer sofern einen drauf ist.
Kann man sich mit dem Kommando show run ansehen. Du musst aber vorher in den "enable" Mode gehen mit dem Kommando enable !

Das Löschen der alten Konfig geht mit dem CLI so wenn du den Kommando Prompt siehst:
ap>enable
Passwort eingeben. Default ist "Cisco"
Dann Konfig löschen mit:
ap#erase startup
Bestätigen und den AP neu rebooten lassen indem du ihn einmal stromlos machst oder ein reload Kommando eingibst !
Dann sollte er ohne all diese Fehlermeldungen hochkommen und dann brauchst du einfach nur die o.a. im Tutorial gepostete Konfig abtippen.
Für die IP Adressen und SSID Namen (WLAN Name) solltest du dann besser natürlich deine eigenen verwenden...logisch !
Ist dir das CLI zu kompliziert geht es auch per Webinterface.
Dann setzt du auf dem BVI Interface (Bridged Virtual Interface) einfach eine IP Adresse aus deinem Netz ala:
ap#conf t
ap(config)#int bvi 1
ap(config-if)#ip address 192.168.1.222 255.255.255.255.0
ap(config-if)#<ctrl z>
ap#write
Das letzte Kommando sichert die Konfig.
Dann kannst du den AP in deinem Netzwerk im Browser mit http://192.168.1.222 erreichen (angenommen ist hier das du ein IP Netzwerk mit 192.168.1.0 /24 fährst !) und alles per Klicki Bunti Gui machen.

Du kannst immer die <TAB> Taste drüchen da wo du bist dann zeigt dir der Command Parser an was er verstanden hat oder welche Optione es noch gibt.

Hi zusammen,
habe einen Cisco AP zu Händen bekommen... Er ist noch konfiguriert soweit ich das über putty sehe..
Wollte es laut Anleitung machen:
When the power is on, press and hold the reset button.
Unplug the power, and continue to hold the reset button for 5 -10 seconds.
Plug in the power as you continue to hold the reset the button.
Release the reset button.
Wenn ich mode buton drücke und mach das Stromkabel raus und wieder rein blinkt er nur ganz schwach rot....?! Und wenn ich den Mode Buton los lasse bootet er wieder ganz normal hoch....
normalerweise müsste er dann nach dem betätigen des mode butons kurz blau blinken und dann wieder grün.. Macht er aber nicht..

Guckst du hier und folge den dort beschriebenen Schritten ganz genau:Cisco WLAN Access Points 1142N, 2702, 3702 für den Heimgebrauch umrüsten
...soweit ich das über putty sehe..
Ja WAS siehst du denn über Putty ??? Der Output von einem "show run" würde uns hier ja mal wirklich weiterhelfen !!
Deine Bootsequenz des AP oben sieht absolut sauber aus !! der ">" Prompt zeigt an das alles OK ist !!
Mit dem Kommando "ena" kommst du dann in den Konfig Modus (Default Password "Cisco")
Dann wird der Prompt ein "#" und dann gibst du mal ein "show run" ein !!
Alles andere ist korrekt:
BVI0 down = vermutlich kein LAN Switch angeschlossen ?
Radio Interfaces down = vermutlich keine gültige Konfig drauf ?
Allso alles korrekt wie es sein soll !

Wo ist denn jetzt eigentlich dein wirkliches Problem ?
Eine lauffähige Konfig für den AP findest du hier im Forum unter:

Mein Problem ist das der AP schon bzw wohl konfiguriert ist.
Das heißt wenn ich wie oben beschrieben reseten will geht es nicht , er leuchtet während ich den Mode Button drücke nur ganz schwach rot...

Habe den AP momenta direkt am Notebook dran über einen Power Injector.
Das heißt wenn ich wie oben beschrieben reseten will geht es nicht , er leuchtet während ich den Mode Button drücke nur ganz schwach rot...

Habe den AP momenta direkt am Notebook dran über einen Power Injector.
Drück die Reset Taste einfach und halte die mal 30 Sekunden gedrückt. Das resettet eingentlich recht zuverlässig den AP.
Die Prozedur ist so beschrieben auf der Cisco Seite:
Hold the reset button down with the AP powered on. Then unplug the power form the Ap while continuing to hold the button down. Then plug the power back in, still holding the reset button. The lights will flash on the AP. When it is blue, release the rest button. Hope that helps.

Hab mich wie gesagt schon mehrere male an die Prozedur gehalten nd bei den anderen hat es auch immer geklappt....
Vielleicht technischer defekt...?!

Ist das ggf. ein Controller basierter AP bzw. hat der LWAPP Image drauf ? Wenn der ein Image drauf hat was Lightweight Access Point Protocol (LWAPP) mode supportet also einen Controller erfordert kannst du natürlich lange versuchen ihn zu resetten.

Der AP muss dazu mit einem Stand Alone Image geflasht sein !! Das ist zwingende Voraussetzung dafür !
Wenn der AP also vorher mal in einem Controller basierten WLAN gearbeitet hat ist davon auszugehen.
Das ist aber kein Problem.
Du bootest den AP dann in den ROMMON Mode und flashst ihm dann ein Stand Alone Image ins Flash.
Dann bootest du neu und hast einen AP der dann ohne Controller arbeitet.
Dann klappts auch mit dem Factory Default
