Problem bei 3Com Superstack 3 Switch 4900 (3C17700)
Hallo Leute,
ich hab hier einen 3Com Superstack3 4900 (3C17700) Switch rumliegen, der schon ein paar Monate nicht mehr im Betrieb war. Jetzt hab ich ihn wieder an den Strom angeschlossen, die Lüfter laufen hoch, alle LEDs blinken kurz, dann leuchtet die PowerOn/Selftest LED und die ersten drei LEDs blinken orange. Ich denke mal das ist irgendein Fehlercode oder was ähnliches.
Zusätzlich hat der Switch noch das Erweiterungsmodul 1000Base-SX (3C17710) drin. Wenn ich das ausbaue und dem Switch Saftgebe, dann leuchten alle LEDs und die PowerOn/Selftest LED blinkt durchgehend grün.
Ich hab jetzt schon versucht den Switch über das Consolenkabel und Hyperterminal anzusprechen, aber da tut sich nichts (zumindest erhalte ich keine Anzeige, wie bei meinem alten SuperStack2)....
Hat hier evtl jemand Ahnung, was die drei blinkenden LEDs bedeuten könnten? Ich würde den Switch nur zu ungern wegwerfen, wenn da noch irgendwas möglich wäre... Vielleicht würde ja ein Hardware Reset was bringen, aber ich kann für sowas keine Jumper oder ähnliches finden...

Wenn du dafür eine Lösung hast dann bitte direkt weil ich habe das selbe Problem mit einem aus der 4500 Serie.

Hallo hier ein kleiner Lösungsansatz,
eigentlich ist es aj ein Tutorial.
Danksagung bitte an meine E-Mail Addy.
1.- Connect cable between 3Com switching equipment (RJ45 port) and computer (com1 port). -the cable becomes with switching equipment-.
2.- On computer enable hyperterminal with the next features : 19200, 8, N, 1, hardware.
3.- With hyperterminal window type (ENTER) and type user "admin".
4.- <4500> type: system-view (ENTER)
5.- [4500] type: interface vlan 1 (ENTER)
6.- [4500-Vlan-interface1] type: ip address 192.68.x.y 255.255.255.0
7.- Press (CTRL+Z) and prompt swap to:
8.- <4500> type: save (ENTER)
9.- The configuration will be written to the device.
Are you sure?[Y/N]; type Y(ENTER)
10.- Please input the file name(*.cfg)[flash:/3comoscfg.cfg]:; type (ENTER)
11.- Check the next messages
Now saving current configuration to the device.
Saving configuration. Please wait
Configuration is saved to flash memory successfully.
Unit1 save configuration flash:/3comoscfg.cfg successfully
12.- Turn off switch and verify through ping command or internet browser that the ip has been saved successfully.

Ja ich weiss der Beitrag ist etwas älter, aber wenn bei 3com gar nichts mehr funktionieren solltet ihr einfach den Switch einschicken. Lebenslange* Garantie ist was feines 
.
