Windows XP lPro SP2 lässt installieren bestimmter Programme nicht zu

Bestimmte für mich wichtige Programme können nicht installiert werden!
Ich installiere z.B. Veritas 9.1, und nach einer kurzen Zeit bleibt die Installation stehen.
Bei diesen Installationsversuchen taucht in der Ereignisanzeige / Anwendung die Meldung auf:
Es konnte keine Verbindung mit dem Server hergestellt werden. Fehler: 0x8007043C
Das Selbe bei Fritz!Fax ISDN, dagegen lassen sich Office 2003 SP2 und VMWARE Player sowie DYnDns.-Updater schon installieren.
Fritz!Fax konnte zu 99% installiert werden, aus dem abgesicherten Modus heraus,
taugt aber nichts da der Fritz!Fax Druckertreiber fehlt: Also geht es auch nicht!

To install Backup Exec or VERITAS Update, the user "System" must have Read, Write, and Read &
Execute rights to all four directories listed above.
To verify the rights on a directory, do the following:
1. Open Windows Explorer
2. Right-click on a directory listed above
3. Click Properties, and then click the Security tab
Note: If the directory being checked does not have a Security tab, the drive is not an NT File System
(NTFS) drive, and therefore did not cause the installation failure.
4. Verify the user "System" has the three rights listed above (Figure 1)

2. From the Microsoft Management Console (MMC), select Add/Remove Snap-in
3. Select Group Policy Snap-in
4. In Group Policy Snap-in, click Windows Settings | Local Policy | Security Settings (Figure 2)

5. Double-click the policy: Restrict CD-ROM access to locally logged-on user only
6. From the Local Security Policy Setting dialog, select Disabled, and then click OK (Figure 3)

7. Quit MMC
8. Log out from the server and log onto the server for the changes to take effect (since this is a group
policy). After the new rights have been added, run the Backup Exec or VERITAS Update installation
again.
