Ribiku

Hallo Ribiku,

Hi.
Apply the desired retention tag to the default retention policy. The rest will be done by the ManagedFolderAssistent which runs early in the morning between 1:00 and 9:00 AM, but you can also run him manually with Start-ManagedFolderAssistent in the EMS.

How to assign retentiontags to a policy and assign the policy to mailboxes, The default policy is assigned to each new user:
https://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/dd362328(v=exchg.141).aspx

Configure Managed Folder Assistent:

Hi Highload,

thanks for the answer, I create 3 new retention tags and set the to "true" all other to "false". I add all the new tags to the policy with the name "Default Archive and Retention Policy". Under "Mailboxes" in the properties of the policy is no Mailbox added.

On new Question is, we don't need the enterprise license to use this feature? We don't use the archive from Exchange and no personal tags but it's not clear if we need the other license too.

And maybe there is someone who can tell me how I can see whats happend and if the policy is working.

Thanks and allbest,

Ribiku

Did you read this page ?
https://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ee364744(v=exchg.141).aspx
Only when using "custom" managed folders you need additional enterprise licenses for each mailbox.

And maybe there is someone who can tell me how I can see whats happend and if the policy is working.
if the old mails are gone then it's working face-smile. Start the managed folder assistant manually and you will see if the old mails are purged from your mailboxes.
