wo finde ich die Log-Datei bei NetWare?
Hallo,
in letzter zeit mehren sich die Fälle, wo sich Kollegen nicht auf dem PC anmelden können, weil sie angeblich schon 3 mal versucht haben, sich im NetWare falsch einzuloggen. Das kann aber früh morgens, beim ersten Starten des Rechners, eigentlich nicht sein.
Ich aktiviere dann im "NetWareAdminisrator" -> "Intruder lockout" den Account und dann klappt´s ja auch wieder. Trotzdem ist das merkwürdig und einige Kollegen verdächtigen einen bestimmten Mitarbeiter, dass der versucht, sich einzuloggen.
Es wird doch bestimmt irgendwo im NetWare und/oder lokal auf der festplatte im WindowsXP eine Datei mitgeschrieben, in der ersichtlich ist, wer sich wann wo einloggen wollte? Und wenn ich zumindest die Uhrzeit bekomme, dann könnte man die Daten immer noch mit den Arbeitszeiten der Kollegen abgleichen und hätte evtl. einen Ansatzpunkt ....
Ein Zugriff von außen ist eigentlich so gut wie auszuschließen, wir lassen regelmäßig einen externen Security Scan machen und haben bisher immer "bestanden".

1. NetWare logfile adapter reference information
The logfile adapter for NetWare forwards events from a NetWare server to the event server. The NetWare logfile adapter can be registered with the startup configuration of the NetWare server so that the logfile adapter is started when the NetWare server is started.
NetWare server events are gathered from any ASCII log file residing on the NetWare server, such as the SYS:SYSTEM\SYS$LOG.ERR file.
The NetWare logfile adapter is a NetWare Loadable Module (NLM) process that reads events generated on a NetWare server, formats them according to specifications in the format file, and forwards them to the event server for further processing.
The NetWare logfile adapter can run silently, without its own screen, or it can run in the debugging mode that displays screen messages for diagnostic purposes.
Das funktioniert aber nur, wenn der Logfile-Adapter auch installiert ist!
2. Installing the NetWare logfile adapter
Use the following steps to install the NetWare logfile adapter (non-TME adapter) from a Windows NetWare client.
1. Log in to the NetWare server on which the adapter will be installed from a Windows client system. To perform the installation, you must have write access to the root of the SYS volume on the server. Typically, the installation should be carried out by User Administration. The installation must be done from the Windows system from which you logged into the NetWare system.
2. Insert the IBM Tivoli Enterprise Console Non-TME Installations CD into the CD-ROM drive, and run the following command from a Windows system:
drive:\NW4\InstallNW4\setup.exe
You can also run this command by double-clicking on the setup.exe program in the \NW4\InstallNW4 directory.
3. At the Welcome window, select Next.
4. Enter the host name of the NetWare server on which to install the adapter.
5. Select Next.
6. A dialog box presents the option of automatically editing the AUTOEXEC.NCF file to start the adapter each time the NetWare server boots. Select either Yes or No. If you select Yes, specify the directory in which the AUTOEXEC.NCF file resides at the next window.
The setup program installs the necessary components.
7. Enter the TCP/IP host name and port number of the Tivoli Enterprise Console server to which the adapter is to send events. The port number is needed only if the Tivoli Enterprise Console server is running on a Windows system.
8. Select OK.
9. When the installation process is complete, select OK.
