Ich habe einen Redhat server mit einer myssql datenbank und dem verwaltungstool phpmyadmin.
Wie kann ich den Zugriff zur phpmyadmin oberfläche mit einem passwort schützen?

ob da was eingebasteltes gibt, kann dir dir spontan nicht sagen.
aber du kannst das Verzeichnis mit .htaccess einem bestimmtem benutzer/gruppe freigeben.

Du kannst auch die Datei config.default gehen und dort folgende Zeilen ändern:
Zeile 50: $cfg['blowfish_secret'] = ''; --> $cfg['blowfish_secret'] = 'test';
Zeile 73: $cfg['Servers'][$i]['auth_type'] = 'config'; -> $cfg['Servers'][$i]['auth_type'] = 'cookie';
Hast du bei MySQL schon ein Passwort hinterlegt?!
