Keine Symbole im Firefox - Edge alles ok - Einsellung?

Hallo,

Hi,
this is the case if you block loading webfonts from websites. The reason for this can either be an installed add on like "no script", disabled JavaScript, or your firewall or antivirus is blocking loading those fonts.

Hi,

thanx for the response. Unfortunately the "Allow pages to choose their own fonts, instead of my selections above" was set. I temporary disabled all add ons as mentioned - nothing.. face-sad

I even tried a complete Firefox refresh by myself - same issue face-sad

It´s the latest V 48 on a simple Windows 10 prof. - no other special Software installed. The system is just for browsing Webpages.

A refresh is OK but if you don't start with a clean firefox profile this makes no sense, because Firefox profiles are retained in the windows user profile (appdata folder), so start firefox with the /p parameter and create a clean profile. If this doesn't help your Windows profile is corrupt or your antivirus solution is the problem. Then create a new windows profile.

Hi,

i tried the /p - Parameter and even a new Windows - Profile - but it didn´t solve the problem.

Next step i tried, was a complete factory-reset of the PC from the restore image. Then i reinstalled firefox and the issue still remains.

So the only option remaining might be the NVIDIA graphics driver. Unfortunately there´s no current update to it available.

Maybe the next release will fix it??? Can´t check it right now.

And check access errors inside the developer console.

This has nothing to do with your graphics driver. If these symbols do not display firefox could not load the font. So it's either forbidden in the about:config (see link above) or loading of the font is blocked in firefox.

Check if you can reach these URLs of the administrator.de icon sets (extracted from css):

Hi,

thanx for your answer - it helped me in finding the solution:

Here it is:

1. the developer console mentioned:

downloadable font: not usable by platform (font-family: "admicons" style:normal weight:normal stretch:normal src index:2)

2. the ttf-file itself downloaded from the link above: https://administrator.de/fonts/admicons/admicons.ttf?5d44xb and manually trying to install resulted in an error message from windows mentioning that this is not a valid font.

3. 2 Minutes asking Google told: turn on the firewall service (since it was disabled on my installation of windows by another 3rd-party product).

4. calling services.msc and turning on the firewall services

5. installing the ttf-file now worked (as well as the webpage in firefox)

Solved!

However I can´t figure out, what the firewall service has to do with the font subsystem????????? I think not even Mr. Gates or Mr. Nadella knows!

since it was disabled on my installation of windows by another 3rd-party product
This product is your main problem! It disables the windows firewall and uses it's own one, and here lies the problem.
If you re-enable the windows integrated one it disables the third party one which is the problem. I have seen this so many times ... these products are the cause of 90% of all windows errors.
