Watchguard X700 reset... Hilfe!
Hallo zusammen,
ich hoffe mir kann jemand helfen...
Ich habe eine ausrangierte FireBox X700 hier liegen. Ich würde gerne ein wenig experimentieren. Ich habe leider bisher keine Ahnung von der Firewall. Ich würde die auf Werkseinstellungen zurücksetzten, aber ich weiß nicht wie ich das anstellen soll. Habe schon alles Mögliche versucht. Ich komme leider nicht auf das Web-Gui drauf.
Kann mir vielleicht jemand helfen und mir sagen wie ich das anstellen soll?

ich hoffe das hier hilft...ist bei mir schon ne Zeit her mit den WGs:
How to Default a Firebox 700
Note: These directions are for 7.* firmware.
1. Turn the Firebox off.
2. Firebox x700: Turn on Firebox while holding down the up arrow key on front of Firebox until Booting sysB appears.
3. Firebox 700: Turn on Firebox while holding down the Reset button in the back, after about 45 seconds, the lights in the Traffic Monitor triangle on the front of the Firebox begin to blink in a regular pattern.
4. Set the Ethernet interface of the Management Station to 192.168.253.2 with the subnet mask 255.255.255.0. The gateway and other TCP/IP settings are unimportant.
5. Make sure that you can talk with the Firebox. Ping 192.168.253.1. You should see replies. If you don't, there's something wrong with the cabling. Check for link lights in the appropriate Ethernet ports on the connected devices.
6. Open the System Manager, the Policy Manager, open your current configuration file.
7. Click File => Save To Firebox.
8. Enter 192.168.253.1 as the IP address of the Firebox that you want to save to.
9. Enter wg as the password. This is the factory default password for a firebox booting from the System area of the flash disk memory (blinking SysA). Click OK.
10. You don’t have to make a backup of the current flash image before saving, your Firebox is running on the default config.
11. When prompted, supply read-only and read-write passwords for the Firebox. These can be the same as the old ones if you like.
12. You will be warned that the configuration file that you are saving doesn't match any of the interfaces defined in the configuration file. This is normal, skip this message.
13. Save the configuration file. Note: This may take a minute or two, depending on the speed of your computer.
14. When the configuration file is saved the Firebox flash disk memory is updated, the Firebox reboots and the Armed and SysA lights are illuminated.
15. You have successfully reset your Firebox to defaults.

Das Dokument habe ich auch bei google gefunden. Bringt mich leider nicht weiter. Ich komm trotzdem nicht ins GUI. Mit dem System-Manger komm ich auch nicht weiter. Ich weiß leider auch nicht welche Firmware auf der Box ist.

Dann boote sie dochmal normal...das Display müsste Dir ja anzeigen, welche IP sie hat. Dann packst Du Dein Rechner ins gleiche Netz und schon solltest Du Dich verbinden können.
Ansonsten mal mit dem Quick Setup Wizard probieren, einfach den Anweisungen folgen!

Die IP ist mir bekannt. Die Firewall vergibt via DHCP Adressen. Wenn ich den Rechner an die Box anschließe bin ich im gleichen Netz.
Hab jetzt nochmal SysB geladen und mit Quick Setup Wizard probiert. Da wird die Firewall gefunden, aber auch nur mit den o.g. IP-Adressen. Ich glaube die Konfiguration scheitert daran, dass ich kein Cross-Over-Kabel habe. Gibt es noch eine Möglichkeit?

Das hat jetzt soweit geklappt.
Aber ich komme leider immer noch nicht ins GUI. Das Problem ist auch, dass ich echt kein Plan von dem Teil habe und ich mir auch unsicher bin, was ich im QSW auswählen soll.

Wenn Du keine Ahnung hast, was Du damit überhaupt machen willst, solltest Du Dir darüber erstmal klar werden.

Hab das Ding nur vor dem Elektroschrott gerettet, und klar für den Heimbedarf viel zu übertrieben . Bin mit meiner Zywall voll zufrieden. Wollte einfach mal ein bisschen gucken....
