PfSense - Squid Package wird entfernt
Nicht mehr ganz frisch, aber hier noch nicht beklagt:
Deprecation of Squid Add-On Package For pfSense Software
Squid ist sicher nicht das gepflegteste Projekt. Ich finde es dennoch schade, da pfSense und die Add-ons zumindest die technischen Konzepte auch dorthin bringen, wo sie sonst völlig fehlen würden, sowie in die Ausbildung.
Insbesondere dem Versuch von Netgate, pfSense neben UTM-Alternativen zu platzieren, ist damit die Grundlage entzogen ("pfSense® software includes the same features as most expensive commercial firewall solutions.").

wenn es eine Migrations Pfad gibt, wechsel ich auch. So habe ich gerade zu wenig Zeit alles neu zu bauen.

Reading and converting your configuration happens and stays on your machine. It does not cache the converted file.
Wäre ein Versuch wert.
