Weder Bios noch vmwear erkennen meine Festplatten Raid controller)
Hallo zusammen
Daten:
Server: HP Proliant lm110 G5
Raid controller: Smart Array E200 Raid 5
Festplatten: 4x Hitachi Deskstar 7K2000
System: vmwaer esx 3i 3.5

Moin.
Wir haben einen Server mit einem 3Ware Controller.
Bei uns hat folgendes "geholfen"....
http://www.3ware.com/kb/article.aspx?id=15416
Q15416 - Compatibility: Does AMCC 3ware have support for VMware ESXi?
ESXi is a leaner version of the ESXServer 3.5 which is targeted towards Embedded Systems Development.
Secondary storage (i.e. non-booting) support is now available for the 9650SE/9690SA using these instructions:
1. Install VMware ESXi 3.5 update 2 to a USB flash disk (or other non-3ware boot disk)
2. Boot up ESXi until the yellow screen appears.
3. Press alt-f1 to switch to virtual console 1.
4. Type 'unsupported', then press enter to get a shell prompt.
5. Copy oem.tgz (attached to this kb article) into the directory /bootbank using 'ftpget', 'ftpput'
or from an NFS mount via the 'esxcfg-nas' command.
6. Type chmod 755 /bootbank/oem.tgz
7. Reboot
Notes: 1. Installing ESXi 3.5 update 2 directly onto a 9650SE or 9690SA is not supported at this
time due to lack of ESXi 3rd party driver support at installation time.
2. Driver version is 2.24.08.014vm.
3. This is the exact same driver binary that was delivered for the 9.5.0.2 release for
ESX 3.5.
Vieleicht hilft auch das http://www.vm-help.com/esx/esx3i/Hardware_support.php weiter.
Schöne Grüße
MK
