Kostenlose Lizenz Windows2016 - Microsoft-Aktion seriös?

Moin,
da MS aktuell Lizenzen und CAL für Server 2016 Datacenter für umme anbietet, stellt sich mir die Frage nach der Seriosität des Angebotes. Kann ja in Vorbereitung der Markteinführung des Servers 2019 gemeint sein ... aber warum benötigt man für die Aktivierung ein Konto bei MS und für den Betrieb "eine kontinuierliche Anbindung an das Internet"?
Ich glaube, dass ich den Mist wohl eher nicht produktiv nutzen werde!

Die kontinuierliche Internetanbindung ist für das Intelligence Online Backup notwendig, was im Hintergrund mitläuft. Mit der kostenfreien Lizenz bekommt man auch kostenlos unbegrenzt Backupspeicher.
